What Are the Best CBD Products on Amazon?

Amazon is one of the biggest shopping marketplaces in America and across the world.  It’s a one stop shop for just about any item you want or need.  Naturally, Amazon shoppers will search amazon.com for CBD products. Type CBD in the search bar and Amazon will show you hundreds of products to shop.  You’ll see hemp oils, hemp gummies, hemp pet products, hemp topicals, hemp skincare products and more.  The product options are numerous and can be time consuming to review them all and choose.

So, how can you tell which are the best CBD products on Amazon?  It’s pretty easy.  There are no best CBD products on amazon.com because Amazon does not allow CBD products to be sold on its platform.

Below we’ll explain what we mean including why all the hemp oils, hemp extract gummies, hemp pet products, hemp relief creams, and other hemp products you find on amazon.com do not contain any CBD.

Amazon's Seller Policy on CBD

Amazon has a seller policy that most consumers probably don’t know about because it is a policy written for sellers, not buyers. This policy includes a long list of items that Amazon doesn’t allow, and this includes hemp products with CBD.

The Amazon seller policy specifically states:

Listings for products containing cannabidiol (CBD) are prohibited, including but not limited to:

i. Full spectrum hemp oil
ii. Rich hemp oil
iii. Products that have been identified as containing CBD by LegitScript

Also, this same policy provides that hemp products containing tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) cannot be sold on amazon.com.

Accordingly, under Amazon’s policy any hemp oils, hemp gummies, hemp topicals, and other hemp products with CBD or THC cannot be sold on amazon.com.  This includes products labeled or described as:

  • CBD isolate (indicating the product contains only CBD)
  • Full spectrum hemp (indicating the product has CBD plus other cannabinoids including 0.3% or less THC)
  • Broad spectrum hemp (indicating the product has CBD plus other cannabinoids except for THC), and
  • Rich hemp oil (indicating the product is rich in cannabinoids including CBD)

In light of Amazon’s seller policy restricting the sale of CBD, there are no best CBD products on Amazon. In reality, there are no CBD products at all.

Why do CBD Products Show Up When I Search for CBD on Amazon?

It is true that if you search for CBD on amazon.com, Amazon will show you a lengthy list of hemp products to shop. This can be confusing and misleading. After all, if Amazon doesn’t allow CBD then why does Amazon show you any hemp products at all when searching for CBD?  It’s a fair question, and one that doesn’t have a clear answer.

What we can say for sure is that all the hemp oils, hemp gummies, and other hemp products Amazon displays do not contain CBD.

You can check this by reviewing the product’s ingredients, label, and description. What you’ll find is that none of the hemp products:

  • list CBD or cannabidiol in their ingredient section
  • list CBD or cannabidiol on their labels
  • mention CBD or cannabidiol in any of their descriptions, or
  • include a QR code or link to the product’s lab results showing the product’s cannabinoid content and potency, and that it has been cleared as safe to use

The truth is that the vast majority of the hemp products offered on Amazon contain hemp seeds and not CBD.

Hemp seeds are rich in amino acids and omegas 3, 6 and 9. However, hemp oil containing hemp seeds is very different than hemp oil containing CBD. One of the biggest differences between them is that one has CBD and the other does not.

I Found a CBD Product on Amazon!

Have you found what looks like a real CBD product on Amazon?  If so, Amazon missed it.

Amazon has guidelines and rules for sellers that must be followed.  It also has methods and measures in place to weed out non-compliant sellers. The process is structured and methodical, but not perfect.  This means that sellers may temporarily get away with listing products that Amazon doesn’t allow, including CBD products.

Finding a CBD product labeled as CBD, that lists CBD in the ingredient section, or describes the product to have CBD on Amazon means it was missed by Amazon’s process or the seller figured out a way to deceive Amazon. Regardless, that listing won’t last as Amazon will discover it and have it removed.

Final Thoughts

There are no best CBD products to choose from on Amazon because Amazon doesn’t allow the sale of CBD.  All the hemp oils and hemp extract products sold on Amazon either contain hemp seeds or something else, but not CBD.

The best place to shop for real CBD products is online from a credible and transparent brand that:

  1. Identifies the amount of CBD in the product
  2. Discloses whether the product has 0.3% or less THC or is THC free
  3. Places a QR code on the product’s label that can be scanned to view the product’s lab report, and
  4. Performs comprehensive testing on the product’s cannabinoid content, cannabinoid potency, and contamination levels.

For example, the label on deepCBDs’s CBD oils state full spectrum hemp extract.  This means they are rich in CBD and contain other naturally occurring cannabinoids in the hemp plant including 0.3% or less THC. Unlike the hemp products on Amazon, each product label indicates the total milligram amount of CBD contained in the product.

Likewise, the label on deepCBDs’s CBD chews for pets state hemp extract isolate. This means they contain only CBD and no other cannabinoids including no THC. Also, each label indicates the total milligram amount of CBD in the product unlike any of the hemp products on Amazon.

In addition, deepCBDs’s products have a QR code to scan and view the product’s lab report (called a Certificate of Analysis).  The Certificate of Analysis reports:

  • which cannabinoids are in the product
  • how much of each detected cannabinoid is in the product, and
  • what contaminants were tested to ensure the product is safe to use

As none of the hemp products sold on Amazon have a QR code to access the product’s lab test results, you have no idea what you’re really buying and whether it’s safe to use.

To conclude, while Amazon is convenient, it is not the place to shop for CBD products for you or your pet.
